About the Author

Jackie Poirier

Jackie Poirier is a true Free Spirit. She is a lover of all animals, but especially horses and dogs. She obtained her first horse, Socrates, when she was twelve years old and hasn’t looked back since.

A major life change occurred in 2013 when Jackie, her horse Moe, and her little dog Mickey relocated to beautiful, supernatural, British Columbia. After catching her breath, Jackie discovered her passion for writing.

Two of Poirier’s short stories, The Rona, and Psychic Vampire, were published traditionally through the Three Little Sister’s publishing house, in an anthology called ‘Nothing Short of Horror’.

Poirier was inspired by her difficult, opinionated horse, Moe, to write a supernatural trilogy. Dark Horse, Maximum Overdrive, and Warhorses galloped onto her pages.

What Readers Say

To be honest, I’m not much of a reader, but Jackie is a friend of the family, and she was also my riding coach while she lived in Quebec.

So I decided to give it a try.

I absolutely loved it, and I’m eagerly waiting for the rest of the series!

Way to go, Jackie, 5 stars from me!

This has got to be one of the best “horse books” I have read.

Horses have a truly mystical presence, and can feel emotions so strongly – this is why they are fantastic therapy partners.
Jackie understands this about horses, and it comes through so clearly in this book!

5 Stars!

I LOVED this book!

The characters became my friends as I read, and as a lifelong lover of horses, and one who believes that they have powers of connection that we barely begin to understand, I could easily put myself in the place of the heroine.

I can’t wait for the next volume in the series!
